Instagram has just launched, a new feature which allows you to upload music to your profile. This is reminiscent of the Myspace days. The feature was developed in collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter who released a teaser for her new song “Taste”, on her Instagram account ahead of Friday’s album release.
Go to “edit profile” to search for songs in Instagram’s music library. You can select a 30-second segment of a song, just like you do when choosing a song for Instagram Stories or Reels. The song does not play automatically on Myspace. Instead, you must click the play button.
You can also remove or change the song by clicking on “Edit profile” or tapping on the song in your profile.
Instagram , according to, began experimenting with music in profiles in 2022. The new feature is designed to enhance user profiles and allow them to express themselves creatively on the platform. The app added the ability to upload music to Stories in 2018. It was launched last year with the ability to add music to notes and carousels.
The new feature was introduced at a moment when users are nostalgic about the “good old days” of social media. There are new apps that aim to be the modern Myspace. One of them is Noplace. It’s a text-based app with Gen-Zd features such as customizable profiles and fun, bright colors.
Instagram is likely to be competing with new alternatives social media platformsthat want to become the next big things, as users have grown tired of the social giant. Examples include BeReal. Daylyy. Palmsy. Lapse. Whee.
