Andrew Ng has resigned from his position as CEO of LandingAI, a computer vision platform that he founded in 2017. Dan Maloney, the former COO, will assume the reinsas Ng transitions from Executive Chairman. Maloney will “continue to drive” the technology and collaborate on “key decision.”
Ng, who has worked for Google Brain, Coursera and Baidu in the past, is a man who rarely stays put. It’s likely not a coincidence, then, that his AI Fund announced plans to fund another $120 million. Ng, who was appointed Amazon’s board back in April, may be focusing on investing at the moment. These executive reshuffles are often preceded by other, more important news, so keep an eye out for Ng’s future announcements.
